Finally did it, stuck case

Anybody have any tricks to get one out.

Its a cheap die anyway, so maybe I should just buy a new one.

Stick it in the freezer for a couple of hours and see it that makes things easier.

Have a tap and die set? Drill the case head out with the appropriate size of drill bit for a 1/4" or 3/16" FINE thread tap. Tap the case head.

With a stack of washers or nuts that will slide over the end of the case sticking out, add a final washer on top, thread your bolt through the stack of washers and into the case.....start tightening the bolt. Bolt is pulling the case out by the threads and pushing on the stack of washers.

Not sure what die you have but in some cases you can remove the depriming rod from the top of the die, and use a punch to knock the stuck case out the bottom.

Extracted case appears to show the decapping stem/expander removed but no obvious cuts in the case, did I miss something?

Removed the deprimer eeexpander and tried to knock it out with a punch. No go.

Turned it upsidedown in the press and tried to press it otu, No go.

Have not tried the tap and die routine yet.

Its in the freezer.

RCBS Stuck Case Remover

It works, two 5 gal buckets of .223 brass and three stuck cases, all of which were my fault from lack of case lube.

A Dillon sizer will allow you to fix that situation, in about 30 seconds. Pull the clip, back the locknut to the top, turn the stem down, till the case drops out. ;D
