I,ve got a new toy. A 1920 mod 99 .303 with 20" barrel with intergal front sight mount with threaded pin. I would like to put on a new Marbles #009840 tang sight. Maybe someone out there with this combo that can give front sight height needed, or measurement from center of aperture on lowest setting to bottom of tang mount. don't want to buy tang sight if I cant find proper sight blade. I know the formula for figuring front sight height but need rear height. Thanks

I think finding a front sight blade will be easier to find than the tang sight. A few places have the 9840 in stock. I've been looking for a tang sight for a 1893 Marlin and it's like those things are made out of primers! Can't find one anyplace!!
I have a Lyman tang on my .303 and the front sight measures .532 from the bottom of the dove tail to the top of the sight. I had to put on a taller sight when I put the tang sight on, it had a rocky mountain blade sight on it.

My 1927 99s Marble tang sight shows 1 7/16" from the tang base to the peep aperture. It's about 5/8" from the top of the front sight to the center of the bore. Hope this gives you a rough idea of what you need.
