Hello , I am considering buying a pre fit to build a 450 Bushmaster the process is not new to me as I have 5 or 6 guns already wearing custom or aftermarket stocks. The question I need answer is with this caliber will be accuracy gains out to say 200 yards be worth it over going with a factory gun. The gun in reality is only going to be used one week a year in Ohio and wit that most likely only used to take one deer. But I have a love for accuracy and when appropriate I will take head shots if within 40 yards.

Depends on the barrel you buy. Factory barrel accuracy is better than you need for close range hunting.

Factory barrel will probably get you there.
If not Rhineland makes a very nice prefit, used one on a 450 I built last year.

I used a Rhineland barrel and couldn't be happier. Barrel break in was quick. I shoot a lot of heavy weight cast loads and have no leading issues what so ever even with heavy loads. I did remove he factory flash hider and discovered my accuracy improved tremendously.

New to the .450 Bushmaster game in a bolt rifle. I have had an M14 in 450 for a few years so decided to stick a Rhineland 18" barrel on one of my Savage LA pre-accutrigger actions. Working out great. I didn't care for the recoil with factory ammo so I am using handloads with the Hornady 250 gn FTX bullet over 27.7 gn of Lil-Gun which chrono at 1850. Having a ball. Rifle is in a standard Savage plastic stock. I added a steel rail and muzzle brake and a cheek riser. Using a Leupold 1.25 - 4 scope. Out the door loaded weight is 10.75 lbs.
