Hello,
I am new to Savage Arms and a little excited about the “new to me” rifle I just picked up. It is a 340C with no serial number, chambered in 30-30 that appears to be in good shape, no a major rust or pitting, the stock shows its years with some minor wear marks and the recoil pad needs to be replaced. The bolt is stuck, fails to rotate open and a small half-moon shaped piece near the end is loose which most likely is the reason it was so inexpensive. I think with care I can free it, clean, oil and return this to operation. I look forward to reading up on this and putting it back to its purpose.
