I'm considering replacing the barrel of my rifle perhaps with a Criterion prefit. But I like the current stock with the accustock bedding, accufit inserts, and detachable magazine. Therefore the barrel can't be much bigger and it shouldn't be much smaller either as it is already free floated a good deal.

The rifle is said to have a 'heavy barrel' and I measured it before the thread protector at the muzzle (24") to be about .755 inches. It is this rifle the Savage 110 predator.

I'm not sure what contour to go with. None of my Savage rifles appear to have 'angle' in front of the chamber like in most of the pictures. This makes me think tapered contour. Of the tapered contours, the light varmint is .729 at 24" barrel which is the closest to .755.

Looks like it's a light varmint barrel with that diameter. Criterion should be able to make a barrel with the same dimensions. Contact them to see what they can do.
