Well, I finally purchased one today. I'm getting ready to retire so I'm trying to check off some boxes for my hobbies. Please post me some pointers on this unit if you have them.

Thank you in advance,

Orezona

I have found a lighter flame and more time will keep you from getting too hot. I built one and it is more consistent than my old drill method. Good luck.

I think I saw an old post of yours during my research regarding your DIY device. Thank you Sir.

I think he asked for advice on the unit he bought. I guess you don't have any?

There are some good videos on the annealeez website that helped me when I first got one.
I did get some templac temp paste for the first few rounds I annealed but seldom use now as you can set time by the flame color and be pretty close.
Winter time takes longer case runtime due to the cold weather- can not get as hot of flame as in warmer weather ( my shop is not heated to well LOL) I am using the small "camping " propane cyl.
Enjoy your new annealeez and you upcoming retirement

Thank you Sir. I watched a pretty good video done by Vaughn Precision yesterday. I didn't think about the weather adjustment. I will be doing it in my garage (not heated) as I don't want to do it in my basement reloading room.

Thank you again.

I bought one new early in the year to help save time. I do have problems
with mine and trying to be consistent with the .284 cartridge. It's a bit
thicker then the 308 family of cases, and the wheels sometimes want to
hang up, causing increased dwell time in the flame. I need to turn a few
thou off each wheel. Also the torch mounting is needing a redo. My plan
is to dig out a spare magnetic base and mount the torch to that. With the
kit mounted to a magnetic stainless plate, I'll be able to easier move the
heat around, and get a better angle away from the wheels.....I to did the
ol' fashioned spin jig. If my mods don't suit me, I got this old BSR turn
table stored away. Hit he jewelers up for a twin head torch and set it for
33 1/3. I think I mentioned before, I can't leave S__t alone !!

As for tips ?? Get old brass you don't care about and practice to find your
perfect timing. My old method was to watch for color just forming half
way down the shoulder then kick it off.

Thank you Sir. Do you have the version with the digital control and the new torch tip mount? Also, I'm going to send you a question via PM about barrel twist in a caliber I'm looking at. Thank you for always being helpful.

Looks like a nice unit. Please share your thoughts on it after you get some experience under your belt.

Mine is digital control, but the mount is just a rod, sticking out of the
unit and a mickey mouse clamp to hold the torch on it. Just no easy
method to to move it around. I'm was thinking about dumping the
solid mounting rod and finding a flex goose neck. I just don't think I
can find one stiff enough to hold position, and why I'm planning on
just make it a separate unit.

I have the Annealeez. Feel free to PM me. One pro tip is get all the wheels you really need.

I setup by setting the flame position first. I set a flame length where the inner blue flame is about 30mm off tip and 0-3mm off the brass. I do this by running brass through the flame set on 80 speed to keep it cool enough. The goal is to aim the flame and set distance without hurting brass.

Then put 3 strips of 750F Tempilaq from base to neck and a bit inside on about 5 brass.

Then run these slowing down the speed until Tempilaq “changes” inside neck without “flares”. The flares look like mini sparks coming off the case mouth. Simply put, they are metal burning off. I find 50’s to 60’s are normal speeds.

Last, compare to new Lapua, Peterson or LC brass for where the blue line should be. Then you are good to go. Take lots of measurements so you can get back to this quick.

Thank you Sir. It should be here today. I was hoping it would show up while I was gone hunting this weekend.

It appears this guy did similar to what the new mount looks like. Which should be on my unit. As of now, the wonderful USPS has maybe lost my unit.

Yeah, that's pretty much what mine looks like, and not liking it for
easy set up and angle changes.....I'm weeks away from getting to
work on my separate unit. Still have to get to dig around in a jewelers
tool catalog and see what catches my eye......As for USPS ?? Mine
took forever to get here. When I did check the tracking number, it was
actually shipped pretty fast once it was put on the truck. Delay was
the original shipper getting it out of the shop.
