from another thread i was looking at the price of presses and got real confused.
( yes i said that)
one site has the price over $400..press not listed as a kit
rcbs site lists price as $203 msrp
so is one ad just a real old rcbs price ?
is one really a kit and improperly listed ?
this is the supreme per the listings
and where is it made ?
i saw some made in china listings

inquiring minds want to know

Midway has the rockchucker supreme listed for 184.99
Also has the supreme kit listed 379.99
The site you mentioned with the 400 press must be a typo

Early in the year as Covid started to shut things down, Natchez ran
a special on the Supreme for $139. It now sits with my original RC
and 3 Junior siblings. Watch out for Natchez though. Their shipping
can be higher then most and not making the deal as sweet.

Black Friday deals are just around the corner. My advice is to wait

Let me change this up a bit.....

I got a new Natchez catalog in last week and just thumbed thru it. The Rock
Chucker Supreme is on sale for $154.99 till the end of December. New RCBS
item is the "Rebel" !! The Rebel is even larger and taller then the Supreme
and 22% heavier. I'm guessing it's aimed at the Cheytac people and wild
catting the 50's. Rebel goes for $214. 99, and the complete Rebel kit is $395.
All Single stage presses for heavy work and taller loads.

It's only money.....

And you can't take it with you unless you change it into Travelers Cheques.;)

I have seen a lot of reloading presses listed with huge prices, particularly on eBay and also on Amazon with sellers who use them for a storefront. I think they are trying to take advantage of uninformed buyers who have become new gun owners or decided they want to reload since the pandemic hit. There have been spot shortages of many items and they are using that to their advantage.

I think you nailed it Bill. Lot's of demand in the market, and as usual, buyer beware.

Hard to do nowadays but my last two RCBS Junior presses were bought
at gun shows. $50 bucks got me both. What slipped thru my hands was a
coveted C-H H-Frame / 3 station. The bidding war on it got out of hand.
In its day, it was truly heavy metal.

The Rebel probably replaces the Ammo Master.
They will be for the larger diameter dies, but no doubt also come with an insert for the standard die diametor.

I would think you would be right. My first year Rock Chucker is only threaded
for 7/8/-14 but did come with a reducer bushing for the early Pacific and Potter
dies. My new Supreme comes bushed so that it can be removed for the larger
dies.

Asbestos ones; in my case.

I watched a YouTube review on the Rebel last week. It weighs on the order of 25 lbs which they said is about 20% heavier than a Rock Chucker. It's a nice looking press.

Everything is a gamble. The higher price from the OP was either a misprint or for the whole kit.

Just be aware of waiting to save a few bucks. People will buy early and often to avoid the dreaded "out of stock" graphic as in primers. Just take a quick look for availability of crimp removers like the Dillon and a few others. As things get tight, they disappear. This is not a political statement, but rather an observation.

Most likely it's a supply and demand type of thing. You can't find these items as they are in short supply so you're finding suppliers are jacking the rates up and getting greedy. Hence, this is the result of it.
