What issues can you run into changing out a standard Savage bolt? This seems like one of those jobs that are more involved than it looks. Am I wrong? I really like these. Bill T.

Oh it is very involved getting one screw out. some are tight!

Does it change the Timing? What about changing the bolt head, does it change the timing?
If I have Fred T&T an action and change any of these parts, will it defeat the timing job he's done?

No and No.
I wondered the same thing, when I had mine T&T'ed. I have changed both and had no problems. I would get the replacement bolt head from SSS, just because Fred does some extra tricks to them.

Getting ready to do some custom bolt handle work myself, so I'm looking forward to seeing what this thread brings. ;D
