I have an RCBS Trim Pro 2 that I can get the neck turning attachment (and pilot) for. But the reviews on some sites aren't very good.

Thank you in advance,

Orezona

I have done a bunch for several different cartridges on the Hornady with great results. It uses Hornady shell holders only though.

Are you looking for something to do hundreds and hundreds at a time, or just a few dozen?

"...to do hundreds and hundreds at a time"

I'm happy with my Sinclair tool. I believe it's an older version of this:

I may be making 7mm-08 out of a bunch of 308. If the necks turn out too thick then I will be turning necks.

Many years ago I had a 7mm-08 and used surplus 7.62 brass for it (I could get if for free off the firing lines). I used a Forster bench type. Worked well.

I doubt you will find a need for turning the necks in a factory chamber.
But if you insist on doing it anyway be carefull, or you could end up ruining the brass.
Years back i decided i needed to torn the necks on the 378 Weatherby brass i was necking down to 30 cal.
That was back when the 30x378 was a wildcat and factory 30x378 brass wasent available.
Anyway i bought a Hart neck turning tool and proceeded to turn the necks on 100 pcs of new necked down Weatherby brass.
Next time i seated bullets in those cases after full length resizing them, the bullets just fell into the case.
I was able to salvage the cases by aquiring a bushing die, but that ended my desire for turning necks.
So the tool now gathers dust along with a few other had to have items. lol

Orezona I've had a Sinclair NT-1000 for over 20yrs, works just fine. Like Charlie B, I acquired a large batch of once fired LC brass in 308 many years ago that I necked down for 7-08. The necks were too thick for the factory barrel on my wife's 110 so they got skim turned.

Edited my post as I confused you with Charlie B, if your 308 brass is commercial you likely won't need to turn the necks. ;)

yes that would be FUNCTIONAL way of turning the necks.
though not a PRECISION way.

do one, seat a bullet and measure,
you do not need a ton of clearance, but you do need some and the right length.

That's the plan. I'm not going to get one before I know I need it. I'm just getting the research done now in case I end up needing one.

I don't do many and my Hornady has worked fine for my needs. I hook a $30 Skil 4V cordless screwdriver on the hex drive and the speed is perfect. The little LED light is even in the right place.
