Hello, my name is Andy and I recently joined this forum as I wanted to get back into long distance shooting. I am a retired police officer, and was a marksman on my department back in the day. My son is now beginning his career in law enforcement and I wanted to get back into marksmanship to help support and encourage him (a little competition with his old man can never hurt!) I have always shot Savage rifles, and my long distance rifle of choice is the Savage Model 12. I see alot has changed with Savage since I was shooting, and am hoping the quality and accuracy of current Savage offerings is comparable to their old stuff. My son has an Axis II and I have decided to also step up to this new fangled 6.5 Creedmoor I have been reading so much about. My intention is to either rebarrel my model 12 to 6.5 Creedmoor, or possibly just build a new one. I would like to have a rifle that is capable of sub MOA so when I miss I'll have no one to blame but myself. I'm rusty as can be, but am hoping by participating in this forum some of it will come back to me and that I will pick up some new stuff along the way.
