338 win mag hog hunter want to convert to DBM need help

I have a Savage Hog Huntet in 338 Win Mag and I would like to convert it to a detachable box magazine. Where could i source the parts since Savage is ZERO!!!!! Help. They can not help me unless I can give them a serial number that references a detachable box magazine. I also need to find out where I can send my stock to have it cut out to accept bottom metal.

You won’t be able to convert the cheap factory blind magazine HH stock to a DBM. I’d go with a Boyd’s LA DBM stock and open up the barrel channel for HH barrel. Then you will need the metal bottom parts which include a trigger guard, LA DBM frame assembly (surround) and magazine bottom cap. Snap the bottom cap onto your current LA 338 WM magazine box and follower. Also need the shorter front action screw for DBM.

Is that a short action gun? I have short action bottom metal and mags and stocks!

My 338 is a long action but I may be interested in your short action stock and bottom metal for a different project
