Hi there, I’m trying to buy a bore guide for a Savage 10 GRS 6.5mm Creedmoor and have been asked what my bolt diameter is. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance.

Contact Mike Lucas. I’ll say he makes one of the nicest bore guides.

Easiest way to find him is just search Mike Lucas bore guides. You will find a link to Accurateshooters forum....and you will find his contact information. He doesn’t do phone calls. Just email.

Give him your action, cleaning rod your using and caliber.

Best bet is Possum Hollow for a bore guide. You can buy direct or from many shooting suppliers. I have three and they work perfectly.

Apparently Mike Lucas is no longer making bore guides.https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/bore-guide-since-mike-lucas-is-no-longer-making-them.6947269/

Seems pretty odd to me that specific bolt diameter is relevant...rather than the manufacturer of the action.
You're not fitting a custom bolt to the raceway where a couple thousandths is relevant.
It's a bore guide, for cripes sakes...

I use the Pro Shot that is similar to the Bore Tech. The forward section kinda seals in the shoulder area of the chamber and the rear section fits into the rcvr at the rear. Not a super tight bit but good enough to guide the bore. Lyman also sells one similar.

For just a bore guide that doesn't seal the chamber then use one of these. Originally made for cleaning from the muzzle to protect the crown, but, I have used them from the receiver. They slide up against the rear of the receiver to center the rod. I keep one in the gun case for each rifle in case I need to use a rod at the range.

Last, you can make your own. The last one I did was many years ago. Resized case. Drill out base to fit rod with patch. Push into chamber. Done. Yep it is kind of a PITA to use but it works in a pinch. Use the bolt to remove it.

I agree, simple and effective.
