https://imgur.com/ieOpu1II bought this rifle in 2017 and I'm not sure about the mount for the optics. Like the title says it's a Dick's Special 10-FCP SR 20". It has the stock 20 MOA rail with an American Defense Recon mount.
The optic is a Vortex Viper PST Gen 2 5-25x50 with a MRAD reticle. Looking at it, it seems the optic is too high off the barrel and the mount would be better suited for an AR flat top. Maybe I'm being paranoid but I'm new to this kind of shooting and I've only been able to put maybe a 100 rounds through it. Not a lot of good spots to put it through it's paces. Measures 2.5" center of optic to center of bore. I just see a lot of people on youtube taking 1000 yard shots and it looks like the bell to thehttps://imgur.com/a/vxfSPyF barrel is a lot less.https://imgur.com/ieOpu1I

It does not matter how high the scope is mounted, as long as it works for you. I personally like them down low and my PST 2 sits at 1.72". Get some different rings if it bothers you...

Like cellt3ch said of its working for you then its good.. if your really unsure you can make sure the rings are concentric to eachother.

Agree with everything above. We maybe should start with the fact that not all rings are the same height. Often you will see the terms Low, Medium and High in the ring description. To get moving in the right direction you might want to measure the gap between the objective and the barrel. Next you could measure your ring height, Subtract the amount of the gap from the current ring height then add the clearance you want...say .125(1/8th"). If you could tell us your exact ring you currently have we could help with the one you need or a list of the ones that would work.

Interested in one of your swfa 12x. Not familiar with how this site works so can't PM.

You can have as high a mount as you want. However, given a traditional stock setup, you will need a higher cheek weld. I run an in-line chassis, like an AR15, and use a 1.5” centerline mount. I still use a low cheek weld as the chassis has an integral, raised 20moa rail.
