Considering buying a used 223; cannot find a model number-letter designation other than Model 10 with a small sp10 stamped on the barrel. The rifle has 24" heavy barrel, accutrigger, and 2 sling and bipod studs in the forearm. Best I can tell from Savage website, the rifle I am looking at is the law enforcement model with 1 in 9 twist. Am I correct? I do have the serial number if anyone can direct me to a site which I could use to find more information about this particular rifle using the serial number.

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the site, don't worry about the model numbers and alphabit soup. The gun you are looking at is a 10FP.

Yes it is a 1 in 9 twist, but Savage does offer a 1 in 7 twist in some other models. The stocks are nothing to write home about, but the gun should be a shooter.
