Since i built my svage switch gun i came up with a striker in 308 and decided that i wanted a long range pistol with brush cutting power and large enough to take down a elk sized critter for hand gunning . I decided to go for the 338 federal round as i have the 338 06 AI in my savage switch gun barrel inventory and love the round i also have a mauser in 338 win mag so i just wanted a complete family in 338 lol it a very good round im shooting 43 grians of 4064 with a mag primer and a 225 sstbt hornady at 2600 fps with the quick dump brake i designed it has the rcoil of a light 44 mag load and is holding a 1 inch 5 shot group at 125 meters http://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy251/wilpenny/003.jpgrhttp://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy251/wilpenny/HPIM1263.jpghttp://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy251/wilpenny/HPIM1273.jpghttp://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy251/wilpenny/HPIM1272.jpghttp://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy251/wilpenny/HPIM1270.jpghttp://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy251/wilpenny/002-1.jpghttp://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy251/wilpenny/1266198262-1.jpg

Nice lookin barrel/brake and what a hammer!
The 1" is freehand or off a bench? My Striker is one heck of a shooter with both the 243 sporter and the 30-06 bull barrel off the bipods BUT it aint worth a hoot if I gotta freehand it...
