My new 10 has bad extractor and will not strip rounds from mag. Extractor works for maybe 5-6 rounds then stops spent shell left in chamber. It does not matter if you are fast or slow with the bolt. Then you load the 4 round mag insert in rifle to fully seated and it will not strip the round. If you do get it to load and fire a round or two it hangs up again.

I don't want to send in the gun and wait 3 months for return then again I hate paying a smith to fix a factory problem. I have the same gun in 308 that run flawlessly. Suggesting or advise appreciated.

Try adjusting the mag feed lips to set the round higher. And buy an upgraded extractor. It sucks to have to but I wouldn’t send it back unless it doesn’t shoot straight. Might want to make sure the extractor in in right.

Thanks ninner. Are you saying to spread the lips apart to allow bullet to sit higher in the mag? I have had the extractor out twice I did notice that the spring is in the hole and does not put pressure on the ball and extractor.

I agree with ninner. Also if the spring does not push the ball into the extractor you should find out why.

I have beeb searching for a extractor kiit but seems everyone I found is out of stock. Is it possible to screech the spring?
