Striker bolt disassembly

I’ve been browsing the site and was wondering if there is anything describing how to disassemble the bolt on a 510. I’ve got to swap barrels so I need to remove the extractor to check for head space.

You DO NOT need to remove the extractor to set the head space.
(as long as the case head you're swapping to is the same size as what you have now)
The extractor will snap over the case rim and hold it against the bolt head.
Same with the firing pin. The bolt is "cocked" and the firing pin is below the bolt head surface.
If you take that bolt apart, remember how to put it back together.
I have taken LOTS of Savage bolts apart with no issues, till I did the # on my lefty bolt. :rolleyes:
Couldn't see the forest for the trees and ended up shipping it off to SSS to get it put back together, the "right way".:confused:

I’ve never swapped barrels so I’ve never had to mess with it. Looking at a few videos and articles, they all said to disassemble before checking but I was unable to find anything describing how to take apart the Striker bolt. I’m glad I joined here, it saved me some time and frustration. Now when my bench vise gets here Monday I can swap barrels, I’ve already got my first batch of 7mm-08 loaded up. If only I could find a Striker receiver for sale, if I found that I think I could piece together another Striker. I just bought one and it came with five barrels, two stocks, barrel wrench, two bolts, no go gauges, dies, brass, bullets. It would be nice to have two complete pistols.
