Anybody know the specifics of how Savage performs their in-house checking of firearms returned for suspected rifle issues?
Do they shoot it first to confirm the customer complaint?
Do they perform any specific quality assurance checks of the barrel, action, bolt, etc?
Would they pull the barrel and reinstall?
I returned a Model 10 .243 for a suspected problem. It was returned with a 100 yard target showing an extremely tight 3 shot group. I don't know what (if anything) was done. The barrel has a mark as if it was gripped tightly in some device. They listed the ammo as Federal 70gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip and I gotta get some of those!
