I have inherited a Springfield/Savage model 86A made in Connecticut, no patent dates on it only a circle with a 12 in it behind the rear sight, can anyone help with information on this rifle. Although it has 22 Short and long stamped on it I would suppose that it was probably pre magnum days, would I be correct?
