Good Morning everyone,

I hope this post finds everyone healthy and safe. I recently purchased new Savage 110 Hunter in .223. I have a Bushnell 3-9x40 Drop Zone BDC calibrated for .223 in 55 & 62 grain projectiles. I will be using the rifle for target shooting at 100, 300 and out to 500 yards. I am looking for a one piece rail and 1” main tube rings. I bought a long action Weaver rail and Modkin rings. The rings don’t fit the rail and the rail doesn’t fit the action. Apparently the .223 version of the 110 is a short action. Does anybody have any suggestions for a picatinny rail and rings for the scope I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, stay safe and have a great day. DJ

I like Warne rails and fixed steel rings.

EGW base and Burris Signature zee rings. Tough setup to beat.

And you have a short action... like a model 10,11,12,or 16.

You arent necessarily locked in to use those weight bullets just because thats the way the reticle is set up.
Heavier bullets will work better at the longer distances, but you will need to experiment with the reticle in order to make them work for you.
For example, the mark in the scope that works at 200yds for a 55 gr, might require the one below it for a 69 gr.
Or you could hold on the same one and add a few clicks, assuming the scope has a dial of coarse.

Thank you. I found out the hard way by Irene ring a long action Weaver rail off of Amazon. So if anybody needs one let me know.

What setup did you end up going with, if any? Here’s a very interesting video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OpzMiRwt3Q
