On the Bass Pro site it lists several Savage 's for sale. In the description of the 6CM is says it has a 5 R rifling. On other on-line gun dealers the description says nothing about the 6 CM's riflings.
Is the 5 R on the Bass Pro's rifles something special Savage built for them, OR ??

5R rifling was an advertised feature on the Cabelas 10T-SR models several years ago when I purchased mine. These models were exclusive to Cabelas and now Bass Pro too.

Do you happen to know what the "SR" stands for ?5R isn't exclusive.. maybe I'm misunderstanding what you meant but Thompsons been using 5R for years, all kinds of barrels com with that as a option, one of my older Walmart savages is 5R, I think 1 of my shilens and both my criterion are 5R my other shilen is 4 ratchet

Correct, 5R is certainly not exclusive. The point being made is that the 10T-SR is a configuration that was produced exclusively for Cabelas/Bass Pro.

5r rifling is the best proven riffling in my opinion, for bullet stability, twist?

Sent from my SM-G955U using TapatalkI've found 4 Ratchet to be as good out to 1k and easier to clean but definitely 5 R has been a significant improvement in reducing bullet deformation
