I spent some time this afternoon working on my 6BR project. I am opening up the barrel channel on a Bell and Carlson Medalist stock in preparation for fitting a 1" bull barrel to it. When finished, I plan to repaint the channel, probably in flat black since it won't be a critical appearance surface.

In your experience, which spray paints hold up best on fiberglass composite stocks? My initial thought is to use Krylon Fusion.

In your case, the prep will be more critical than the paint.

Make sure to blow it off well with compressed air to get all the dust out of the pores, then wipe down with denatured alcohol.

Just enough paint to get it covered - like 2 medium coats - is enough. I would say the paint you mentioned would be fine.

Not critical......the cheapest paint you can buy at the dollar store.

You say it's fiberglass composite ?? Glass will wick moisture.
since it's in a mostly hidden space, I'd get a two part epoxy,
and brush it in, if it were mine. It can get humid. Key here is
to make sure any glass strands you exposed get soaked. And
the slower the cure time, the better, then what Sharpshooter

If you want a heavier build to seal open areas better than standard paint, I've used SEM Satin Black Chipguard 39813 on stocks and fiberglass will good results.

It has some texture to it, but not much.
