I've got a 5 gallon bucket full of LC brass. Some of it is marked with the NATO cross and some just says LC and the two digit year. are all of these still the thicker NATO brass or is the LC 09 stuff standard 223?

You might try weighing some of each and comparing with some 223 if you have any.

Lake City was military brass in the past. Can't see them having too lines producing cases one set up as 223 Remington and the other 5.56 NATO/Military. Weight should tell the story as previously posted.

LC brass can be manufactured by several different companies, just depends on who has the contract at the arsenal. Believe it is Federal right now.

Keep the brass seperated by headstamp....there WILL be difference in quality and internal volume.
