Long story short, I've been playing around with this LWH in 6.5CM for my son. Initially had it in a Boyds, and fought it off and on for a year, never able to get really consistent accuracy. Come to find out, theres a small crack in the stock at the rear action screw.
Got it back in the OEM stock, and things were going much better, but I really wanted a "nicer" looking stock. I ended up ordering a Bell and Carlson. Specifically, "Sporter Style, Detachable Magazine, Short Action with Bottom Bolt Release (#1007-97)"
The mag from the OEM stock doesnt fit, and if I tighten the action screws down very tight, it binds the bolt up and it wont function. So, it looks like the stock was meant for the addition of bottom metal that I do not have?

I found this link https://www.savageshooters.com/content.php?325-Choosing-the-Right-DBM-Stock-Bottom-Metal-Pa

So, to convert my LWH to work with this B&C stock, do i need to just order (SN- G901181) bottom parts. Will I just need the stainless metal frame assembly and metal bottom bolt release trigger guard? Will I need a different magazine as well? Are there other aftermarket options that would work as well?

Thanks, and please ignore my stupidity when it comes to this stuff!

Front action screw is too long. Install it without the bolt and then look into the receiver, you will see it protruding past the barrel threads. Just grind it down until the bolt stops getting stuck....very common issue when changing stocks around.

Heres a couple pics of what I am talking about. Its more than just a long screw. The mag doesn't fit at all, it looks like I am missing the bottom metal? From what I understand, they molded that all into one piece in the newer cheap plastic stocks??

Here is the original stock:

So, could I just order the stainless bottom bolt release trigger guard and bottom metal from Savage?

Thanks again

So that B&C stock is inlet to accept separate bottom metal, but you obviously don't have any. I believe you can order the bottom metal from Savage and it *should* fit. But I also think the external bottom metal will have its own magazine catch/release lever and not use the built in one your magazine has. The magazine likely has the catch nub already stamped into the metal and you could cut off the plastic catch. But don't quote me on all this...the DBM world gets convoluted.

You are missing the DBM frame assembly (surround) needed for the B&C stock. There is a plastic DBM frame assembly used with the model 11 LWH with walnut stock that would work with the style of magazine and stock you have. But I would call Savage Arms and tell them you want to order a stainless steel bottom bolt release trigger guard, a SA, SS DBM frame assembly and SS DBM bottom cap. Squeeze the sides of the metal magazine box to remove plastic bottom cap and snap on metal bottom cap. The metal bottom parts won’t flex or crack when you torque down the action screws resulting in tighter groups at the range.
