116 top load to detachable box magazine conversion?

Hello all! I recently got a super deal on a 116 that is a top loading 30-06. I was thinking of converting it to a detachable box magazine set up. I’m assuming an aftermarket stock and some hardware will be required. Have any of you done this?

Easy conversion. Just as you thought. Different stock and the bottom metal for the magazine.

I have done several as well as most everyone else on this site. It's really simple. Buy yourself a stock that is cut for a DBM. Several stock makers have these readily available. Next would be to buy long action bottom metal and a magazine either from the classifieds here or from savage direct if you'd like. Not much more to it than that.
