I found a local retailer selling this .308 rifle, NIB, for $499+local tax...It is the older version that does not accept P-mags, but rather those from Savage. I know nothing about this rifle....Is this a decent deal?...I see the newer versions that accept the P-mags selling for considerably more money...Any, and all help/comments are appreciated.

I think that puts the rifle $100-150 lower than most places. To me it’s a decent purchase.

Check online at some popular sites like Buds. They may still have that particular model available. If so, that would be a good indicator of what the market price is for it. Do a search on the Savage model number.
