Looking for recommendations on stock

I have a Savage short action with 4.275" action screw centers, large shank, staggered feed, blind mag with factory 270 WSM sporter barrel. I'm looking for recommendations for a pillar bedded light weight hunting stock that won't break the bank. Any and all help would be appreciated.

What forum and what did you end up going with?

The stock that I'm getting is a synthetic Savage stock. The person with the stock is sending it to me for free of charge. I only have to pay for the shipping. I couldn't pass up that deal. The forum was the Modern Muzzleloader forum. Maybe in the future I'll restock with an aftermarket stock.

Another factory plastic stock could very well be as bad or worse than your original stock. The factory "Tupperware" stocks are not the greatest.
