I have the Savage MK II with a threaded barrel.
It came with one 5 round magazine.
There is a consistent problem with the last round feeding out of the magazine. It always jams up and doesn't let the round feed into the chamber. If I pull the bolt back and try to re-feed it, it just mangles the slug.

Is this a magazine issue or something else?

Would a new magazine help or is this a problem that is in the bolt?

The first 4 rounds feed and eject very nicely. Just not that last one.

Anyone have a suggestion for me?

Thanks,

MKP

The most common failure point in a magazine fed system is usually the magazine. I would start there. My MKII 5 rnd mag wasn't peened properly at the top, Savage replaced it and I went to 10 rnd mags. The replacement and 4 additional magazines have been trouble free for about 10 years now.

Where did you get your 10 round mags?
