I remember finding a thread posted by a guy having extraction problems with this ammo, but no luck . He said that he was shooting Magtech .308 150gr FMC in his model 10 and the fired shell would not extract untill he ran a rod down the bore and forced it out. I had some of this ammo and finally fired one round yesterday ....same problem except I just taped lightly on the bold handle with a smal piece of wood till it came out. So in case I cannot find the privious posting I just wanted to warn everyone about this ammo . It did not show any signs of high pressure , and was not split nor was there any damage to the fired case. The only explaination anyone at the range had was maybe the Savage chamber is a bit tighter than standard. So now I have 49 rounds of very costly factory ammo I have to resell or give to someone with a diffrent brand rifle. Oh well, if this is my only complaint in life then things are not to bad for me.

I know the throat is very short in my 10FP, Federal 168gr GMM, is only .005" off the lands. Maybe why it shoots so well. I know if I dont set my sizing die an additional 1/3 turn in, after the shell holder contacts the die, my brass wont chamber. Very short chambers!
