Extractor Interference? 300 Savage, Boss Code 3D

Hello Gents

I just picked up my second 99, a 1952 300 Savage (Boss code 3D) and noticed something about it that differs from my 1957 308.

When you close the bolt on the 300, the extractor bottoms out in the extractor cut-out and splays out to the right.

I stripped the rifle, cleaned it up good (to make sure there wasn't a small varmint nesting in the extractor cut-out) and it still does it.

Is this normal?

I am wondering if the extractor had been replaced at some point and is too long...

Storing the rifle with the bolt open for now. It seems like a fair bit of stress is being put on the extractor when the bolt is closed.
