Here is my favorite for prairie dogs, turns them into a "red mist".
26g Barnes VG, 28.0g of IMR8208, Rem 7 1/2 primer, COAL 2.245, 4270 fps

Just my $0.02

I have had my best accuracy with the 39 gr Sierra BlitzKing and a max load of H4895. I am getting 3,850 fps with typically sub 1/2 MOA accuracy, factory stainless heavy Savage barrel.

Note - Initially my accuracy was horrible with groups often greater than 1.5 inches till I got about 100 rounds thru it and used some JB Bore paste.

30.7 gr BLc-2 and the 32 gr V-Max getting 4074 average in one gun and 4120 in another both thru my Chrono. Accuracy is good from both shoots low .2's reg. from 1 gun and .3's from the other.

Well my favorite load so far happens to be a load for coyote's, but wouldn't hesitate to use it in a local comp shoot. The accuracy is outstanding out of my Predator Hunter. 3 shots I can almost cover with a dime. This is my first Savage rifle & first .204. Really impressed thus far. I chose the Berger 40 over the V-MAX etc. because it saves pelts better than anything I've tried.

Bullet: Berger 40gr match grade varmint boattail.

Powder: 25.0 grs. Reloader 10x.

Brass: Winchester.

Primer: Rem 7 1/2 BR

Velocity: 3750 out of 22" barrel

I have had great success with 29.2 gr of BLC2, 39 Sierra Blitzking, and a CCI BR4 primer. I've tried seating depths from 1.870" to 2.000" (measured at the ogive) and they all shot quite well.

23.4gn IMR 8208 XBR under a 50gn Berger VLD. Requires a custom barrel, though. I'm using a 1:9 Shilen...but on an AR-15 not a Savage.

I was in love with 39br BK and RL10x, was in high .1 and .2 mostly. But the consistency between different lots of powder was quite substancial. I moved to BLC-2, alot more consistany between different lots of powder

27.5 gr of Varget behind a Hornady 40 Gr V max shoots one ragged hole for me.

40gr V-Max, Win SRP or Wolf Primer, and RL15. One Ragged hole at 100.

Can't remember Charge and OAL as I haven't had to load any for it in awhile.
