I’m considering picking up a 110 Hog Hunter as my first Savage Rifle. I like the idea of a factory threaded 20” barrel with iron sights for an Eastern timber deer rifle.

from what I understand Savage made some changes from the 11 Hog Hunter to the 110 Hog Hunter.

Is the 110 HH still a short action receiver?

Hows the reliability from the detachable box mag? I’ve heard of feeding issues in the 350 Legend HH rifles and I’m wondering if this is cartridge specific or endemic across the 110 HH platform?

How is accuracy?

i figure this is the place on the net to find answers about Savage rifles.

I have a take off barrel from Hog Hunter on an axis. It shoots better than I do. Sub MOA all day everyday. Doesn’t wonder bad after the barrel heats up either. Mines sitting in a Boyd’s varmint stock so the barrel is very floated. Buy it you should be impressed.

No problems with a 308 feeding and yes, a 308 HH is a short action. I concur with ninner. It is a shooter and handles quickly.
