Savage 11 thxp .223 to .250 savage conversion

I wish to rebarrel my savage model 11 trophy hunter xp in .223 rem. With the detachable magazine to a shilen 250 savage barrel. I wish to keep the original poly stock. Would it work "as is" by using a .243 win mag in place of the original .223 mag?

You would also need to swap out the bolt head to .473” for the 250 cartridge. Also check out the contour on the shilen barrel you plan to use. The Trophy Hunter stock will most likely float up to a magnum/heavy sporter contour barrel, but not a varmint contour barrel.
