Hi everyone. I am looking at a model 17bgvxp at Cabela's (have no idea what all the letters mean) The rifle has a laminated stock, spiral fluted barrel, accutrigger and a 3-9 scope. Does anyone know how they shoot, and how well built they are? I'm thinking it would make a great Christmas present for my grandson.

The 93R17 GVXP is a rifle scope package from Savage as you can see in the details below. You will find that all Savage rifles are excellent shooters right out of the box. There are many threads on this forum on Savage rimfires discussing accuracy and many with target pictures. Best Christmas present a kid can get, and to learn from his Granddfather is TOPS. My grandson is 6 and can't wait to do the same for him.
