Can anybody tell me if a 10fp action, newer model accu-trigger/centerfeed, is for a small or large shank barrel. I bought a heavy 308 barrel off a model 10(any more info unknown at this time) and I am looking at buying an action for it. I am working on getting a deal struck with a guy that has a 10fp, but neither person can tell me if the barrel or action are large or small shank. I don't want to buy the action if they will not work together. I should have the barrel tomorrow and I could measure the threads at that point, but I do not know what diameter constitutes a small or large shank barrel.
Any info would be appreciated, Thanks Jason

Diameters are
small=1.055"x20tpi
large=1.120"x20tpi

hope that helps.

thanks guys, I guess I'll find out next week when everything arrives. Both were supposed to be model 10's, so I think they'll work together. If not, then I guess I'll be selling and action or barrel or both.

You should be ok but, if it turns out wrong, you can always list the parts for sale in the classifieds.

Large shank is 1.1125"
barrel spec sheet for action details a range of 1.110 to 1.115
