Ok folks, time for some cheap and challenging fun! This is going to be a monthly online match to challenge your skill and help make you better, more consistent shooters. Keeping the rules simple and fairly open as this is meant to be fun.

Again, this is just for fun so get out there and enjoy challenging yourselves. First match will be for November 2019 and I will start a thread to post your scores/targets in on Nov. 1st.

I would recommend newer shooters start at 25 yards and hone their skills at that distance before pushing it out to 50 yards. This is similar in format to the ABRA 50yd matches we shoot here locally and if you're consistently shooting 285 or better at 50 yards you are doing good. Most novices will usually shoot in the 250-270 range at 50.

If you have any questions feel free to ask them below.

Sounds like some fun. Didn't know ABRA had the 10 bull target for matches?

The ABRA targets are 20 bull targets. Impossible to fit that many bulls on a standard 8.5x11 piece of printer paper so I went with 10 (similar in layout to the NRA A-17 targets).

This is the official target for ABRA matches.

Just out of curiosity, how many here don't have a printer to print out targets? Would it be better if we used a common store bought target like the NRA A-17 50' 4-Position targets (https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1015205858?pid=383280)? They're plenty cheap enough at less than $10 per 100. Probably a lot cheaper than burning up expensive printer cartridges printing out your own targets.

Let me know what you guys think. If you'd rather go that route we can starting next month.

If this takes off well I'll add another for 3-position shooting at 25 or 50 yards (kneeling, sitting and standing) with an appropriate target.

RFC has a bunch of target options you can download.

Could print one or two of "your" targets and take it to a print shop, and have some made that way. I checked at a local UPS store and it was $.25/page for 8x11 paper.

If you don't have a printer you can't print out the targets you download - besides, we already have one to download. And for $.25/copy at the UPS Store or USPS office you'd be paying $25 for 100 targets (on standard weight paper) vs. less than $10 for 100 of the A-17 targets on heavy target paper.
