New Stock for a Savage 99A

Hello, newbie here, thanks for letting me join. I have a Savage 250-300 Model 99A. The stock is cracked pretty bad and I was wanting to replace the stock. Can anyone tell me where I can find one and also if there are any caveats or variants that I might be aware of before purchasing one, that is if I can even find one. Thank you in advance for any help.

Boyd's gunstocks generally have some. I haven't actually ordered one but I have several Boyd's stocks for other rifles and they have treated me well so far. Check out their website it should help you in ordering the right one

Is the crack behind the metal tang on top?

Boyd’s doesn’t offer the schnabel forend, as I recall. Gunstocks, Inc. does.

WBM, Yes the crack is beind the tang on top and extends about 8 inches back, its a dozy. Model 24 thank you for the advice, I will check out Boyds and Gunstocks Inc.

Reason I asked is if you get another stock make sure that the area behind the tang is relieved so that the wood is not jammed against the tang.
