just bought a Savage 99E in 308 with a rotary magazine. What’s s good factory 150 grain ammo. I like Hornady SST but I don’t know if the tips will foul in the magazine when loading/unloading.

You'll be fine with the Hornady's, no problem. My mod. G loves the hornadys, will hold .25" at a 100 yds, it hates the remingtons 3" at 100.

I am also partial to Hornady premium bullets as well as Sierra's.

I had good luck with the Winchester 150 grain Power points. These aren't anything fancy, tend to shoot a little dirty but my 99e in 308 liked them the best. Easily putting together <1" 5 shot groups. I handload for it now with 150 Nosler Partitions. Anyway, I did have a bit of trouble with longer more premium bullets. I found that they shot well enough but if I loaded more than three in the magazine that I had feeding issues.

I shot 150 grain bullets out of my 99c, they shot into 2 inches with open sights at 50 yds, the 180 grain round nose shot into an inch at the same distance.
Perhaps there was more bearing surface giving better accuracy, maybe it just likes them better.
No sense getting too technical..............

Back in the day 99 Savages were very popular among deer hunters, i think round nose bullets were more commonly used.
My father always used round nosed bullets for hunting in his 99 and others including hand loads up till he died in 1961.
So did others i knew and hunted with. Of coarse in guns with magazines like the popular 94 Winchester or the 141 Rem pump had, round nose was a requirement for safety reasons.
The thought was that the round nose bullet worked better if it came in contact with brush.
Dont ask me how they knew that.

If I were using factory ammo, i would try Federal first and Hornady American Whitetail next. Some friends of mine like the Monarch ammo from Academy.
