Model 64 constantly jamming

So I was out shooting today with a buddy of mine. My model 64 was jamming so bad that it was bending the bullets. I swapped out to a brand new magazine, and it did the same thing. I swapped out the ammo, same thing. I put a little forward pressure on the bottom corner to raise the front of the magazine a little and it actually chambered a round.

Is anyone else having this problem? And if so, has anyone found a long term solution for it?

Hi MCormier - I went thru many 'solutions' to this problem. I had 3 magazines and tried all sorts of ammo. Then I began modifying the mags. I posted a thread about this with some suggestions. You might want to read all of the posts I have her to see all I went thru. Some of the 'fixes' may be all you need to make yours OK. You'll see I've been most active on this forum over the past year or so. I finally Emailed Savage and complained about the mags - I had put up with this issue for 3-4 years!! Here in Canada the mags cost $30 CDN + 15% tax Each ! I attached pics of the mods I made to each of the old mags. A very nice lady there sent me 3 NEW mags !!! at NO COST !!
