Well I have a 6.5 creedmoor that is all over the place, and the bolt is so damn tight on ammo, it scares me... should I warranty it, or take it apart myself first? The forearm is loose, rings are loose...

I would warranty it.

Where did you buy it? That is where I would go.

Sorry, typed a bunch that is probably not of use to you.

Is this a new rifle? Did you clean it well (including chamber) before shooting it? That may be a cause of a 'tight' bolt.

What is 'loose' on the forearm. The factory plastic stocks are known for being flexible so if that is the issue there is no fix except a new stock.

If the rings are loose then that is likely your shooting problem. Easy to fix if you can wield a screwdriver/allen wrench.

Loose rings and forearm will definitely screw with accuracy.

I would start with tightening things up.

Sounds like you have a situation that doesn't need any more tightening....call Savage!

Check front action screw, it might be a tad to long. Losen screw to see if is binding on bolt head.

When you say the bolt is tight, do you mean it is hard to get open after the shot?

Rings are loose ? Can be no accuracy there. Tight bolt ? Separate issue. Front action screw too long, as mentioned. Things You can check and fix Yourself. If it goes beyond Your comfortable skill level, take it back or warranty, as suggested.:smile-new:

One of the scope mount screws can also catch the bolt head.

I think you ought to sell it, and buy a 350 Legend.

The OP is a legend now, 12 replys to his first ever post , without another peep from him. Somebody must have hit the nail on the head and he is still out shooting.
