Homemade belting dies and a rebated rim.
Runs thru a 308 magazine.
With the 260 Hornady, this will fit into a short action.
Case ends up 2.400".

Why belts?

If you don't have a "claw" type extractor, you can't hold and eject a rimmed case without a shoulder.

Then the stacking and feeding problems of a rim.

Not wanting to head space off the case mouth, you kind of need a belt.

OH, and it works on the 458 Win Mag. and my 41x240-2.170" Weatherby.

The 444B will fit the short action mag with ease.

I'd like to know more about your homemade belting dies, preferably with pics!

Reminds me of one of my first wild cats back in the day.
belts were all the rage. Took the .350 Remington mag
and necked up to .458 It was the equivalent to a chain
saw in the brush, with the accuracy of the Peters 12
gauge punkin' ball.....

Basically they are just straight walled reloading dies.
You could use 'die blanks' at $20 per blank.
Or, water hard drill rod at $30 for 3 feet.
This is what I made for a bushing holder, but sizes and shapes may vary depending on what you have.
Lube, just case lube to size.
Tapers made with a boring bar with the lathe compound. A lot of cranking, in and out!
Make .003 small, polish to size.
