Hello all, recently picked up my new 110 tactical 20 inch 308, and ordered a set of Talley one piece mounts for it, problem I have is the mounting screws Talley provided are too small to thread into the receiver, and the screws I removed from the receiver when I removed the 20 moa rail that came with the rifle are too big to go into the mounts. Being that it is Saturday, Talley and the vendor I ordered the rings from are closed. The rings I ordered are Talley part # 940725, savage 110-116 accutrigger, round receiver.

The 110 Tactical uses #8-40 screws.
Savage recently made some changes in some models and went with the larger screws vs. the #6-48.
You'll need to return those mounts and swap for the correct size screws.

EGW has a list for reference:

Thank you for the reply sir, decided to fix it myself, nothing a drill press, micrometer, and assorted bits, and polishing compound could not fix. Mounts are tight, and perfectly aligned.

I would be willing to buy your #6 screws. Somehow I stripped one on my talley mounts.

Thank you. I would PM you but it seems you need a few post before you have that privilege.

Are the holes in the mount countersunk or counterbored? Countersunk is no problem. If you need the holes counterbored, drill bits & a press aren't going to do a very good job. Would love to see your finished work. I love home machining stories...no matter how small!
