so back to the range today with the nightforce 12-42x installed in regular rings.
no 2,4,and 8 inch jumping to the right.
so it would appear something is a miss with the ivey 150 moa rings.
i will call and talk to them.

disappointing is the inconsistency in groups. always a flyer.
me thinks there is an ignition issue with the bolt assembly.
inconsistent firing pin hits.
comments ???

i can continue load development with the fixed rings, just no
2000 yard shooting. 600 is easy.

Has the bolt been messed with? If you disassemble it look for parts that are binding like the fit between the cocking piece sleeve and the cocking piece. Could be some burrs in there.....maybe. No lube going back together except maybe ford friction modifier :o.

What about pin protrusion?

I have......one time I was doing load work up at 1000 yds, and inadvertently loaded BR-2's instead of Federal 210's (the priming tool was loaded with CCI and I didn't realize it). When I went back to shooting, the point of impact was 2 feet higher. I thought the scope took a crap, till I realized my mistake. Turns out it was more of a "happy accident" because it shot better all the way around.
