Alliant Reloder 15 is the powder. Aprox 42.5 gr give or take a little for lot to lot variance.

Bullet should be the 168 gr SMK.

No, M118LR uses a 175 gr SMK - M852 uses the 168. Hmmm, I noticed that Alliant says M118 Special Ball - that uses a 173 gr FMJBT that was loaded by Lake City before Alliant took over!

The M118LR uses the 175gr Sierra Matchking bullet. The load is actually widely known in the tactical shooting community.

There's data aplenty, but interesting that Federal (now running LC) changed the recipe and switched to an IMR to replace the RL15. Temp stability was an issue evidently.

I bought some back when it was expensive ($75/100) and wasn't impressed. When it got crazy expensive ($150/100) I figured at least the brass was good so I wasn't selling. Haven't bothered to empty it out yet, one box of mediocre accurate ammo wasn't any fun to shoot.

Even the spec is pretty loose, nothing you can't easily better when handloading. I use Varget for as much as I can, temp stability being an issue here. The 175 SMK's are great, but there are other quality bullets to consider as well.
