hi guys, so I have a new build. I intend to stretch out shooting distance and also, I was shooting low. So I got the Burris posi-rings. I added 20 MOA ring to rear of scope and reduced 20 MOA from the front of scope. which in theory should be "about" a 40 MOA rail. I have my scope dialed all the way down and at 40 yards (just trying to dial in) I'm still shooting about 8 inches low! even if I bring turrets up enough to zero at 100, I will have very little elevation left to come up to shoot at long distance with consideration that I have a 40MOA rail on the scope! please help, I have almost 4K in this gun and unless I'm a raging moron and thinking about the mechanics incorrectly, I just threw 4 grand in the garbage.

base of gun is a 116 bear hunter 300WM and 8-25x50 scope.

How low were you before you added the rings? Are you sure you put the +20 and -20 in the correct spots, according to the diagram? I just put the XTR signature rings on my mkII to be able to dial for 300yd, and they work perfectly. I would double check everything, starting with your base.

Do you have another scope to try?

If you have another scope, give it a try just to see
Also, is this a new factory rifle? if so a trip back to savage would be an option
