Foist of all I have several loading manuals - but rather than go through a lot of trial and error I thought I'd start by asking the "experts". (does expert mean one is no longer a pert?!)

I'm looking to shoot 142g SMK's out of my .260. What have you found, using this weight bullet, to be a good powder. I'm looking for smallest groups, not fastest downrange time. Range is from 100 - 300 yards.

Thanks....

Some of the guys over at http://6mmbr.com are big fans of Reloader 17 in the .260.

Try realoader nest, might find some good information.

I "KNOW" each gun likes their own load! Some less than others, some more. I have seen my guns take less the 2grns powder than someone else's.

THEREFORE, AS STATED, ALWAYS START 10% and work up in 2grn increments!

I LEARNED THE HARD WAY, Everybody else is shooting 37.0 to 37.5grns out of there 6.5x47. I am shooting 35.1 and get the same volocity!

Just a little thought. The last gun I worked a load for, I found the lowest charge, started there and worked up 2grn, I new when I had my load but shot the rest just to make sure!
