I was getting low on Federal 210s and so I decided it was time to get to work on those 5 bricks of Wolf Large Rifle Primers I've got stashed. I wished I'd run out a little sooner! Best shooting weather I've seen in weeks.

Best 5 shot groups at 200 yards (0.556 inches). Nope, I don't walk 200 yards just to turn a target right side up...

The load

Bullet: Nosler 175 gr. HPBT
Powder: Hodgdon Varget 43.0 grs.
Primer: Wolf Large Rifle
Case: Lapua
LOAL: 2.853 (2.272 Base to Ogive with Stoney Point)
Average Velocity: 2610 fps
Extreme Spread: 25.38
Standard Deviation: 8.00
Comments: Jam length with Nosler 175 gr. HPBT is 2.312 (about 2.893 LOAL). Bullets seated to give 0.040 bullet jump (for magazine function). Magazine Maximum LOAL 2.866

These rounds were loaded for magazine function and I was a little worried about accuracy loss from the increased bullet jump to the lands. Doesn't look like a problem after all, I'll probably seat a little deeper next time.

Nice looking gun, great shooting! I have had very good luck using the Wolf small rifle magnum primers in my 223 Rem and 223 AI loads. At least as good as the Rem 7 1/2's I was using.
