A quick post of a stock and bottom metal upgrade for my MkII Heavy Barrel.

I swapped my polymer stock for a laminate, but the bottom metal needed some serious help. My goal was to have bottom metal properly anchor the stock, as with this model, there is not a lot of laminate stock between the receiver bosses and the metal.

Heavy barrel - seems to call for heavy bottom metal. I got some bottom metal made from 1/8" Stainless Steel. I eventually located the required length 12-32 (unobtanium) button head screws. Still need to seal the wood and add short pillars prior to hitting the range.

The pics can tell the full story...

Footnote - this is a heavy barrel, I opened up the barrel channel with a deep socket wrapped in sandpaper... very free floating now.

Nice work. Could have also ordered one from DIP.

Yes, but the local guy was about $10 less than DIP, free shipping. Additionally, I am in Canada, and DIP has no information on their site about shipping to Canada.
