You guys are going to help me big time. I am a researcher and a forum type guy, so I will read a lot and post very little.
I come from a hunting background mainly, dabbled in some Garand match shooting, old school is cool.
My gun hobbies split time with other hobbies. I take it in large chunks at a time, and sometimes shift focus. But a hobby is a hobby.
I used to load my own. A nasty divorce and no equipment at the present time.
I plan to start spending more time shooting and less time worrying about ammo this time around.
And that means shooting more than my hunting rifles and handguns.
I jumped on a pair of !2FV's from Cabela's in .223 and .308. I want up to 600 yd shooters. Not going to spend a lot on mods, but I know enough about Savage rifles over the last 20 years that these are some of the best out of the box rifles there are. And have maybe surpassed Remington at the present time.
If I can get these set up for under 700 a pop for respectable shooters. I am good.
I have been to WY several times and am planning a trip again this year for speed goats. One of these days, I want to try prairie dogs and coyotes
As I get older, I need to concentrate more on my shooting and less on the other variables.
