savage micrometer

I recently found a model H, does not have the correct rear sight, I need a savage micrometer, either model..

Since the Model Hs were made from about 1923 until 1960, I'd guess you're inquiring about the peep sight. I think nearly all of the 99s had a dovetail rear sight and/or a tang mounted peep sight. A serial number would give a manufacture date of your 99H and a photo would show the existing rear sight.

Savage did make a Micrometer rear sight that mounted on the barrel, the #21B and 21S. It was standard on the 1899 H made from 1905-1919. That sight was available from 1906-1912. Good luck on your quest, for the holy grail sight!!

Hey, those are my sights (old pic but recognize my desk). Actually I've only seen 21S's on model 1905's, never on a 99 like the 21B's.

Travis, 99H's were only made to 1940, not 1960. Did you get that out of Royals book?
